1491 - New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus
By Charles C. Mann

1491
I first read Charles Mann’s account of North and South American Indian life prior to 1491 when it appeared in the Atlantic Monthly a few years ago. Like the editors at Random House, I thought it should be a book. The world Mann’s research reveals dates back 15,000 years. It lifts the curtains on a world far more advanced than its European counterpart. Urban planning, horticultural advances, language, philosophy and hygene were evolved in ways we didn’t imagine.
Once you start, you won’t be able to put this book down. And, you’ll find it hard to fathom how we got it so wrong for so long. ![]()
